Shoney’s® Offers Free All-American Burger™ to All Veterans and Troops on Memorial Day

Shoney’s®, an all-American iconic restaurant brand, will remember America’s fallen military members this Memorial Day (Monday, May 27) by serving a free All-American Burger™ to all veterans and active duty military members.

“It’s our way of saying ‘Thank You!’ to the heroes who fought for our freedom while treating our veterans and troops to a great American burger on Memorial Day,” said David Davoudpour, Chairman and CEO of Shoney’s.

According to Davoudpour, service members will be treated to Shoney’s Signature favorite All-American Burger, a freshly prepared, hand-pattied, grain-fed, 100% ground beef, cooked to order burger, served on a toasted corn-dusted bun with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles and mayonnaise.

“It’s been a guest favorite for many years,” said Davoudpour.

Varsity serves it up like your grandmother would

Varsity serves it up like your grandmother would

Varsity Bar B-Q, located on the Atlanta Highway in Montgomery, Alabama, has a mixture of good food and good customer service.  The folks here serve it up the way you want it with a smile.

The slow smoked pork, beef or chicken is done to fall off the bone and melt in your mouth. The vegetables are cooked with southern care. The homemade deserts range from cookies, pies and the South's favorite and my personal favorite banana pudding. They do it the way your grandmother would do it with tender care. Everything is homemade.

"I come here to get the chicken salads," said customer Dajuana Molone. "I like coming here because you can sit any where you want and do not have to wait too long in lines to be seated and the food is fresh and good."
