City to create master plan for William P. Screws Army Reserve Center and adjacent properties | News

The City of Montgomery Department of Planning will hold a public input meeting to discuss the proposed redevelopment/reuse of the William P. Screws Army Reserve Center located at 4050 Atlanta Hwy and adjacent properties along the south side of Atlanta Highway from Bellehurst Drive to Perry Hill Road.
The public input meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on the campus of Faulkner University, 5345 Atlanta Highway, in the Harris Business Building, Room 101.
City of Montgomery Planning Staff and consulting urban designers, landscape architects and planners will be on hand to present a site analysis, studies and a concept for the sites and facilitate input, questions, comments and concerns for the proposed master plan preparation and finalization for implementation and action.
The outcomes from the public input meeting will provide important input and information in preparing a final master plan for the re-use of the sites. The City encourages all citizens, businesses and developers with insights or ideas for this locations redevelopment and re-use to attend and give input into this redevelopment process.
This public input process will seek to create a park and additional access and better circulation to Goodwyn Park, improve the streetscapes for walking/biking/public transportation, improve stormwater management, take advantage of the natural beauty of the wooded area adjacent to all sites, new commercial buildings and to create a better connection neighborhoods adjacent to the sites.
