Couple searches for dog after finding home burglarized | News
MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA)- Thousands of dollars in goods were stolen from Montgomery, but the item the family most wants back is still missing. Burglars ransacked the home on Robison Hill Road on Thursday evening, and the family believes their dog Cane was let out of the house.
"What hurts me the most is they had him in here and locked him away," said Gary Nelson, Cane's owner. "Then I don't know what happened to him after they left. "
Gary and Stefanie Nelson are newlyweds, married just six weeks ago. They're both teachers; Gary at Montgomery Academy, Stefanie at East Memorial Christian in Prattville. They said the burglars stole TVs, clothes and other items. Other homes in the area have also been burglarized in recent weeks, according to the Nelsons.
"They took food from our cabinets, and drinks from our refrigerator and they were eating and drinking our food while robbing us," Gary Nelson said. "That's so low."
"Everything you've been working so hard to straighten up has just been rummaged through," Stefanie Nelson said. "Like what do you even do from there?"
But cleaning up has taken a back seat to finding Cane. They spent most of Friday searching for him.
If you have seen Cane, call 334-301-4290.
