Torchbearers to hold financial aid workshops for Jeff Davis seniors | News
On Thursday, September 27, Leadership Montgomery’s Torchbearer’s Leadership Class will hold free financial aid workshops for seniors at Jeff Davis High school throughout the day in all 12th grade English classes. The purpose of the event is to help students begin the process of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) ─ a critical first step, and one that is required by most colleges and universities to determine if a student is eligible for grants, loans and scholarships.
Last year, MPS’ 2012 graduating class earned a record $23 million in two- and four-year college scholarships, and more activities like this one will be planned at high schools to encourage students to begin the process of planning for college.
