Joy To Life Foundation to "Blitz" Ellen DeGeneres | Events

While people the world over show love to their sweetheart on February 14th, the Joy to Life Foundation is hoping that people will show some love to them on the day after Valentine’s Day so that Montgomery can receive a visit from talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres.

“We’re inviting Ellen to come to our tenth annual Walk of Life for breast cancer,” said Joy to Life founder Joy Blondheim. “We also want her mother, Betty, to come with her since she is a breast cancer survivor. So we’re asking everyone to send Ellen a message on Tuesday, February 15th and ask her to come to Montgomery for the Walk. We want to overwhelm her with the number of people in our area that want her to come to this fabulous event.”

Sending DeGeneres a message is a simple process, said Blondheim.  “All people have to do is to go to our website—www.joytolife.org—and click on Ellen’s picture.” That will take website visitors to a page where they can send DeGeneres a message of invitation to the April 16th event. “It only takes a minute or two to write something and send it to her,” Blondheim notes. “We really just need as many people as we can to send something—a note, a picture, a video---whatever they would like to do.  It can be as fun or serious as they would like it to be.  We just need lots and lots of people to do it.  That’s why we made the decision to have a ‘Blitz Ellen’ day!”

The Foundation has even received help from Mix 103’s JT and Leanne in getting the message out about the blitz.  “We really hope that thousands of people will take a minute to send a message to Ellen,” said JT.  “The impact of having a nationally recognized celebrity come to an event like this would be huge.  And the best part is that more people will be able to hear the Joy to Life Foundation’s life-saving message of breast cancer awareness as a result.”
