TV host Bill O’Reilly to speak at Faulkner benefit dinner Sept. 26 | Events
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Popular TV news host and best-selling author Bill O’Reilly will speak at Faulkner University’s 2013 annual benefit dinner on Sept. 26 in Montgomery. President Billy D. Hilyer made the announcement Saturday evening at the conclusion of Faulkner’s successful fundraiser featuring Si and Willie Robertson, two stars from the A&E Network’s hit TV reality show, Duck Dynasty.
“Bill O’Reilly is a highly sought-after speaker who will offer thought-provoking commentary and analysis on key issues facing the nation and the world,” Hilyer said. “Mr. O’Reilly is the latest in a long line of nationally known speakers who Faulkner University has brought to Montgomery as part of its annual benefit dinner. We believe this is an event that many residents of Montgomery and the River Region, as well as friends of Faulkner everywhere, will want to support.”
A journalist for more than 30 years, O’Reilly blends news analysis with investigative reporting and tackles our nation’s events, politics and culture in the rigidly enforced “No Spin Zone” on Fox News Channel’s popular “The O’Reilly Factor.”
O’Reilly is also the author of a syndicated newspaper column and 10 straight New York Times Bestsellers. His mega-seller, “Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination that Changed America Forever,” has been made into a National Geographic Channel documentary narrated by Tom Hanks. His most recent work, “Killing Kennedy: The End of Camelot,” is also already a bestseller.
O’Reilly has won three Emmy Awards for Excellence in reporting and was honored by The National Academy of Arts and Sciences for his reporting and analysis on and after September 11th, 2001.
This fall’s benefit dinner, An Evening With Bill O’Reilly, is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Montgomery Renaissance Convention Center. A reception, which requires an additional admission ticket, will be held at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call the Office of University Advancement at 334-386-7257 or visit www.faulkner.edu/oreilly.
