Montgomery High School Students take top prize in Inaugural “Your Best Shot Montgomery” | Events
Montgomery, AL – Over 60 guests attended the City’s Development Department Holiday Open House and “Your Best Shot Montgomery” photo competition judging. Local high school students took 1st and 2nd place while Dan Kenemore, a member of the USAF Band of Swansea, IL placed 3rd.
St. James student, Amy Dennis, won 1st place with her photograph of the Union Station Train Shed from her perspective atop the Montgomery Intermodal parking deck.
BTW student, Haley White, was awarded 2nd place for her photograph of the Dexter Avenue fountain. The photograph was part of a school assignment and depicts the fountain’s crane with the State Capital in the background.
Dan Kenemore’s photograph of the Blount Cultural Park Wee Top and its shadow rounding out the judging for 3rd place. A hobbyist photographer, Kenemore was in Montgomery performing with the United States Air Force Band exploring the city during some free when he snapped his photo of the Wee Top.
12 Finalists were chosen by a panel of professional photographers, architects and other city officials from over 50 submissions. Cash prizes were awarded to the 3 winners.
