MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Officials with Eastdale Mall say authorities responded to the mall around 11 p.m. Saturday night after shots were fired near the mall.
According to Dave Schloss with Eastdale Mall, "MPD did report an incident outside of the mall Saturday night about 11 p.m. MPD says a firearm was discharged from a vehicle as it left mall property."
Schloss added that the mall closes at 9 p.m. so the incident was after hours. No mall personnel or patrons were affected.
Authorities now confirm two separate incidents occurred at Eastdale Mall on Saturday.
A fight broke out near the Food Court inside the mall around 8 p.m. Saturday. The crowd was dispersed by mall security and a 13-year-old girl was charged informally by MPD and turned over to the custody of her mother.
MPD was still at the mall between 11:30 p.m. and midnight when they responded to a call of shots fired near the vicinity of the mall, the exact location of the incident was not specified. Authorities determined shots were fired from a white SUV into the air near the mall and the vehicle sped away. No injuries were reported, no suspects were apprehended.
