2013 Cloverdale-Idlewild Spring Concert Series continues

The 2013 Cloverdale- Idlewild Spring Concert Series continues with Sunday's performer: 

  • Blackbird Pickers. Some rock, some folk with a hint of bluegrass.

A different band or musician will be performing each Sunday afternoon through May at the Gazebo at Cloverdale Bottom Park (on the corner of Cloverdale Road and Ponce de Leon) at 4 p.m.

Bring your chairs or blankets (or both), coolers and snacks. Plan to sit under the beautiful oak trees in the park setting and enjoy the music. Looney's Skating Rink will be providing inflatables for the kids and the Pine Bar will be providing restroom facilities.

Admission is Free!

Upcoming performer:

  • May 26th - Ed Pickett. A little on guitar, a little on mandolin, some fold, some country blues, and some old standards.

Based on Eric Etheridge's 2008 book
Breach of Peaceit offers insight into the young people who willingly went to jail to help end racial segregation. 

Don't miss the opening weekend $3 per person admission.

“Capital of Dreams” Triathlon and Kids Duathlon Proceeds Going to Support Boston Marathon Victims

“Capital of Dreams” Triathlon and Kids Duathlon Proceeds Going to Support Boston Marathon Victims

Montgomery, Ala. – In response to the Boston Marathon bombings last week, Team-Magic, Inc., a professional multi-sport event management company, has decided to dedicate proceeds from the Capitol of Dreams 5k Run/Walk to The One Fund Boston.

The One Fund Boston is committed to donating money to victims of the Boston Marathon bombings and their respective families.

The 5k Run/Walk is part of the first annual Capitol of Dreams Triathlon, hosted by the City of Montgomery. Participants of all ability levels are welcome and are able to sign up via wwww.team-magic.com or in person on race day.

The 5k Run/Walk course includes notable civil rights historical markers: Rosa Parks’ bus route, Court Square, Martin Luther King Church, and State Capital Building. The finish line is located at The Riverwalk Amphitheater.
