MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Junior Ana Veselinovic rallied from a first-set deficit to break a tie match and lift the No. 2 Auburn University at Montgomery women’s tennis team to a 5-4 victory over No. 6 Oklahoma Christian and the team title of the AUM Spring Invitational Sunday at Lagoon Park.
With the win, the Lady Senators improved to 10-1 on the season, while the Lady Eagles fell to 11-1 on the year.
Heading into the final set of her match, Veselinovic and Hermon Brhane were tied at a set apiece. Much like the entire match, the two players needed extra play, as Veselinovic came out on top with a 7-5 victory for the set and a 5-4 victory for the team.
AUM took a 2-1 lead after the doubles portion of the match, as Veslinovic and Morgane Zowczak won at the No. 1 position, while Kveta Hajkova and Alina Tseplukhova rolled 8-1 at the No.
